Sheinbaum questions the US for reaching an agreement with Ovidio Guzmán.

MEXICO CITY (apro).- As the trial of Ovidio Guzmán progresses, President Claudia Sheinbaum insisted on pointing out the lack of coherence of U.S. authorities in seeking an agreement with a criminal from a group they called terrorist.
He recalled that the accusation his administration maintains "is more about the criteria being used and the lack of coherence in the policy there in designating organized crime organizations as terrorists. Everything else is part of an ongoing trial."
Regarding the lack of information from the U.S. government regarding the arrest of Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada almost a year after the events occurred, he also reiterated the need for the Mexican government to know the details, especially since the violence in Sinaloa has continued unabated for more than 10 months.
"Especially the Department of Justice, along with the Attorney General's Office, it's very important that the Department of Justice provide the information because when they open the investigation and issue warrants in the United States, they must have all the information. The Attorney General has been requesting all the information."
He said this request has been made both privately and publicly because, he reiterated, "it needs to be clarified how this arrest happened." Regarding the various judicial proceedings, he asserted that these are the times and characteristics of justice in that country. He also expedited the process.
"It should be clear that we never defend them; on the contrary, we do our job to make the necessary arrests and reduce violence in our country. And this is especially true for Sinaloa."
