Mariah Carey welcomes Christmas with a traditional video

As every year, Mariah Carey proves that the Christmas calendar doesn't officially start until she says so.

The singer , songwriter and self-proclaimed queen of Christmas has once again ignited the festive spirit with her traditional (and highly anticipated) announcement: the return of All I Want for Christmas Is You , the song that for almost three decades has marked the beginning of the most magical season of the year.

True to form, Carey said goodbye to Halloween in spectacular fashion. Through her Instagram account, she posted a video that begins with a mysterious tone and ends in an explosion of glitter, snow, and laughter.

In it, the singer appears in different scenes: in her dressing room , in an elevator, with her dog in her arms and being made up before a concert, while her iconic Christmas anthem plays in the background.

In just 24 hours, the clip surpassed 800,000 "likes", confirming that the enthusiasm for Mariah remains intact.

This year, the artist wanted to add a touch of humor to her ad. In the video, she plays a Christmas angel who must confront an evil elf, voiced by Billy Eichner , who tries to cancel the holidays by stealing presents and makeup (a nod to her collaboration with Sephora).

"Santa's helpers quit, they need therapy," the mischievous character explains. But, of course, Mariah doesn't give up: with her now legendary " It's time ," she brings back the magic, transforms the elf into a snowman, and dresses up as Santa Claus to announce that, indeed, the holidays have begun.
