VILLAHERMOSA, Tab., (apro) .- A control judge linked Hiram "N," former PT candidate for municipal president of Teapa, to criminal association proceedings, so the politician will remain in justified preventive detention.

The advisor to the PT faction in the Tabasco Congress was arrested on June 12 by the Olmeca Interinstitutional Tactical Reaction Force (FIRT), which is coordinated by the federal Ministry of Security.

Hiram "N" is the brother of former Morena federal deputy Mario Llergo Latournerie, who in 2023 was campaign coordinator for Adán Augusto López Hernández during the internal process for the Morena presidential candidacy.

The defendant is also the husband of the former mayor of Teapa, Alma Espadas Hernández, whom he tried to replace after her three-year term ended.

In 2024, Hiram "N" resigned from the party founded by former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and joined the PT, where he contested the mayoralty that his wife was about to hand over.

The accused's departure from the "cherry-red" party came amid the internal clash within Morena between the factions of Governor Javier May Rodríguez and López Hernández.

In the 2024 elections, the PT nominated Morena supporters in the municipalities of Teapa, Tenosique, and Jalapa, but only won the latter two, losing the one sought by the politician who is now in prison, accused of criminal association.
