What happens to the body if I don't eat breakfast?

Nutrition expert Fernanda Alvarado's blog, Bien Comer, points out that just because you're asleep doesn't mean you're not burning calories. A 60-kilogram person burns 500 calories while sleeping, which is why breakfast is the quintessential meal.

While our nutrition expert recommends adding fruit, whole grains and good quality proteins such as sugar-free natural yogurt or seeds.
On the other hand, skipping breakfast can have harmful effects on your health. The UNAM explains that this is what happens to your body if you skip breakfast:
- Sleep patterns change.
- The body releases more cholesterol.
- Glucose drops.
- Causes headache.
- Fatigue increases.
- There is irritability.
- Causes gastritis.
- Weight gain and obesity.
