Harvard reveals list of foods that add years and threaten longevity: avoid them

Harvard University conducted research and published a list of foods that are not only bad for the body , but also take years off your life and accelerate the aging process.
A healthy diet is one of the factors with the greatest impact on longevity and physical and mental well-being, which is why scientists recommend avoiding excesses for longer-lasting well-being.
So far, researchers haven't found the secret to eternal youth, but they have identified habits that help people live a better old age.
According to researchers, a diet based on fruits and vegetables is associated with better health outcomes and longevity.
According to Harvard, there are some foods that should be included in a person's daily diet, as they increase the likelihood of aging well and having a healthier body.

On the other hand, scientists recommend eliminating foods from the diet that not only shorten lifespans but also accelerate aging.

- Sugary drinks: Soft drinks and industrial juices containing sugar are highly harmful to the body and are associated with an increased risk of obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.
- Red meat: When consumed in excess, it can increase the risk of developing chronic diseases and certain types of cancer.
- Trans fats: These are found in fried foods, ultra-processed foods, and pastries. These increase inflammation and cell damage.
- Sodium: Excess salt can cause several diseases, such as cerebrovascular disease, heart disease, and hypertension. Therefore, its consumption should be moderate.
- Processed meats: Sausages, cold cuts, and other processed products contain preservatives that increase the risk of obesity, type 2 diabetes, and certain types of cancer.
“ A diet high in sugar, unhealthy fats, and ultra-processed foods can make cells more vulnerable to damage and function poorly, increasing the risk of infection, cancer, inflammation, and chronic disease,” they add.
Researchers not only advise quitting bad habits, but also recommending a balanced diet along with physical exercise.
