In the early hours of Friday morning, August 15th, a major traffic accident occurred in which several vehicles collided at the intersection of Avenida Boyacá and Avenida Primera de Mayo in the capital, resulting in several injuries. What is known about this incident?
According to information presented by the El Tiempo news website, the collision between public transportation vehicles and a private car left 43 people injured, who were transported by the 20 ambulances that arrived to respond. The accident occurred when a bus from the Integrated Public Transportation System (Sitp) crashed into a median strip between Avenida Boyacá and Avenida Primero de Mayo.

This situation immediately had consequences due to the collision with other vehicles traveling through the area. For this reason, authorities informed the public that the Southern Highway, Carrera 68, Carrera 78K, and Carrera 71D-sur became alternate routes in the face of this unexpected event.
