Bankinter earns 541.7 million in the first half of the year, up 14.4%.

Bankinter achieved a net profit of €541.7 million in the first half of the year, 14.4% more than the same period last year, thanks to commercial activity, according to a statement issued to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).
"At the close of the first half of 2025, the Bankinter Group is maintaining the positive performance of its customer business from recent quarters, with growth across all balance sheet items. This translates into increased market share in the various geographies in which the bank operates and an increase in revenue that places profitability ratios at record levels, strengthened by efficiency and asset quality," explains the entity headed by Gloria Ortiz .
According to the bank, profitability reached historically high levels, with a return on equity (ROE) of 18.4%, compared to 17.7% a year ago, although return on tangible equity (RoTE) decreased to 19.5% from 19.94% in the first quarter. However, it remains above the 18.8% it recorded at the end of the first half of 2024.
Net interest income for the first half of the year fell by 5.1% compared to the same period in 2024, to €1.101 billion , due to pressure from interest rates. However, the bank highlights that this line was already higher in the second quarter than in the previous two quarters, mainly due to the reduction in the cost of deposits.
Gross margin, which includes all revenue, amounted to €1.494 billion , up 6% compared to the same figure as of June 30, 2024, thanks to the performance of net commissions, which totaled €380 million, an increase of 11.2%.
