Authorities warn of this fraud in the registration of the Women's Welfare Pension

As registration for the Women's Welfare Pension program, which provides 3,000 pesos every two months to women between the ages of 60 and 64 , opens, Mexican authorities have warned about a scam circulating on social media and through text messages.
The Ministry of Welfare has warned that a false message is circulating promising support of 2,750 pesos for women ages 18 to 63 , something that does not correspond to official programs.
The scam is presented through links on social media or messages inviting you to register digitally, but the reality is that the process to enroll in the Women's Welfare Pension is solely in person and free of charge . If you receive an invitation to register, ignore it, as it could be fraudulent.
The program is aimed at women between 60 and 64 years old. According to official information, there is no limit on the number of participants, so anyone who meets the requirements can register. The application process can be completed at the Wellness Modules.
The Secretariat published a registration schedule in August 2025 for interested parties to apply based on their first surname initial.
The necessary documents are:
- Valid official identification
- Legible birth certificate
- Updated CURP
- Recent proof of address (maximum 6 months)
- Contact phone number
Authorities recommend being alert to these signs of fraud:
- Messages with links to “register” via social media or SMS: don’t click on them or share any information.
- Websites that promise quick bonuses or early payouts: Check that the address ends in .gob.mx .
- Requests for deposits, transfers, or payments to manage your registration: never pay anything.
- Requests for bank details, CURP (Customer Registration Number), or phone number via text message: do not provide personal information.
