On Tuesday, the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office reported that an unnamed woman returned one of the stolen puppies. The woman had purchased the animal from a street vendor in North Denver for $1,500, but after seeing the news and noticing the match with the images of the stolen dogs, she decided to turn it over to authorities.
“She immediately called the store when she realized her pup matched the photos in the story,” the sheriff’s office said in a post on X. “Perfect Pets is grateful to have been reunited with the dog and plans to reward him.”
No further arrests have been made and the second puppy remains missing, a Sheriff's Office representative told NBC News in a phone call.
