The Board tests new banderillas and markings at a bullfight held by the bullfighting schools in Cazalla.

A bullfight without picadors in the Seville town of Cazalla de la Sierra was the venue chosen this Saturday by the Ministry of the Presidency, Interior, Social Dialogue, and Administrative Simplification to test new bullfighting equipment.
Specifically, these are different banderillas and markings than usual . "We are guarantors of the essence of bullfighting, but we want to continue moving forward and ensuring the future of the festival," stated Councilor Antonio Sanz during an event at the town's Casino.
With this event, the Andalusian Government is fulfilling the agreement reached at the third Technical Conference of Presidents and Delegates of the Authority , held last March in Granada. One of the highlights of that meeting was the analysis and evaluation of bullfighting equipment, within the framework of the implementation of the new Andalusian Bullfighting Regulations.
Present at the meeting were veterinarian Julio Fernández and matador and bullfighter Manuel Sales, who proposed the improvements being tested. Initially, these improvements were focused on the divisa and the banderilla. "We're going to test these new types while maintaining the authenticity of bullfighting," stated Councilor Antonio Sanz.
A technical jury composed of officials from the General Secretariat of the Interior, the Union of Bullring Presidents, the Andalusian Council of Veterinarians, and bullfighting professionals will prepare a report and present it to the Andalusian Council of Bullfighting Affairs at the end of the year to draw conclusions from the test carried out this Saturday in Cazalla.
The councilor declared that "bullfighting schools represent the future of bullfighting and are spaces for training, the transmission of values, and technical experimentation." Antonio Sanz stated that "today they are the banderilla and the divisa, and in the future they may be the pica and the estoque" and argued that the Andalusian Government "seeks to protect bullfighting in the long term."
The test takes place during the second semifinal of the XXXI Cycle of Novilladas without Picadores in Practical Class, which will culminate in the Grand Final on August 30 in Villacarrillo (Jaén) and is organized by the Andalusian Association of Bullfighting Schools 'Pedro Romero'.
This bullfight, like the rest of the season, is broadcast live on Canal Sur Televisión. Six young bulls from the Portuguese Condesa de Sobral ranch will be fought by the bullfighters Isaac Galvín, Juan Jesús Rodríguez, Noel García, Cristian Restrepo, José A. de Gracia, and Fernando Lovera.
Antonio Sanz took advantage of the event in Cazalla de la Sierra to announce that "Andalusia will host the final of the next National League of Novilladas." This project, promoted by the Bullfighting Foundation , is a bullfighting competition that brings together young novilleros who have not yet taken the alternative so they can make their mark and compete against other bullfighters.
