On Saturday, Selena Gomez shared a post in her Instagram Stories of a new makeup look by her frequent collaborator, Jenna Nicole. In the two selfies, the Only Murders in the Building star was wearing a black velvet halter top with decorative buttons and her stunning marquise engagement ring. Her hair is down in sultry waves and she is, of course, wearing a full glam look with a smokey eye and coral lip.

Nicole shared a second Gomez makeup look on her timeline that day in which the I Said I Love You First singer is wearing a bright red lip and matching red top with a mock turtleneck. Her hair is swept up into a sleek bun and she accessorized with her ring and a pair of chainlink silver earrings.

On August 7, Gomez attended an event for the launch of her company Rare Beauty’s Eau de Parfum. She stunned in a shimmering mother-of-pearl ensemble, Cult Gaia’s Renata Gown. The dress featured a halterneck and low back, with draped fringes that flowed around her body. She wore it with white sandal heels and a pair of diamond statement earrings.

That same day, her episode of the podcast Therapuss with Jake Shane was released. During the interview, Gomez shared that she and fiancé Benny Blanco first met when she was 16 to work on a scuttled project, and continued to meet casually over the years.

“I feel like he was an acquaintance, if that makes sense,” she said. “To be honest, we weren’t besties. I just thought he was nice, and then we did a few songs together.”

But romance was in the cards years later. They got engaged in December 2024. Though Gomez said she “couldn’t be more excited,” the wedding is still far in the future.

“There’s so much happening at the moment,” she explained. “He’s working on some projects that he has to wrap up, and we just have things we want to finish and our own personal endeavors before we get into all the nitty-gritty. I just have really never felt so sure about something, and I also don’t want to jinx it by saying that.”
