What did Claudia Sheinbaum say about changes to the anti-nepotism reform and non-reelection?

President Claudia Sheinbaum confronted reporters who questioned the fact that Morena and its allies approved her reform against nepotism and non-reelection but with a modification so that it would come into effect in 2030 and not 2027, as she had originally proposed.
"My position remains that it should be approved by 2027. I understand that in the agreement to have the majority of the parties that are part of the Movement alliance (Morena, PVEM and PT) they agreed that it would be until 2030, so there it is a decision of the senators and the deputies."
He said that the important thing was for it to remain in the Constitution and stated that "anyone who does so in 2027 will look very bad."
He ruled out that it could be approved this year since it has to go through the Senate, the Chamber of Deputies and the majority of local Congresses.
"He hopes" that by 2027, Morena will not appoint any family members.
A reporter pointed out that Fernández Noroña said that the change occurred "because the governor of San Luis Potosí, Ricardo Gallardo (PVEM), said that his wife should participate in the process for the succession to the government of 2027."
He pointed out that the senators changed their proposal "to commit one more act of nepotism, as if to say that we've had our last word and we're leaving."
The president tried to justify that, since they were an alliance, they should count on the votes of those who opposed it, despite the fact that during the discussion the PRI, PAN and MC stated that they would support the project, except with the change to 2030, and even with deeper impacts such as extending it to the federal administration, the Judiciary and other proposals.
He quoted former President López Obrador, saying that "politics is choosing between inconveniences," expressing that "sometimes it's not what you want but what can be done."
