UEFA plans to expand the European Super Cup to four teams and move it to the Middle East or the US.

The European Super Cup , a competition that annually pits the Champions League and Europa League champions against each other, could move outside the continent and change its format to four teams, as the Spanish Super Cup did in recent years.
Following the creation of the Club World Cup , the possible relocation of Villarreal-Barcelona to Miami , and the transfer of the Italian and Spanish Super Cups to Saudi Arabia, UEFA is considering changing the venue of the tournament that determines the European Super Cup. The Middle East and the United States are the two destinations being considered, according to The Telegraph.
This year's Super Cup final, between Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham , was played at the Stadio Friuli in Udine , Italy, marking the first time the Italian country had hosted the event. However, the venue was the only one to bid to host the match, reflecting a lack of interest from other European cities.
In 2022, when European football's television rights for the 2024-2027 period were sold, UEFA suggested revamping the Super Cup format. The initial idea was to create a Champions League- style inaugural competition, with four teams competing in a semi-final and final format. Currently, European football's governing body is negotiating the terms of the television rights for the coming years with the American company Relevent , so the project could be revived now.
Aleksander Ceferin , UEFA president, has previously hinted that he does not rule out the possibility of enjoying top-level European matches in the United States in the not-too-distant future, so the European Super Cup could be the test tournament to expand continental football to the North American or Arab markets.
