There is soot that never comes off

The president of Morena, Luisa María Alcalde, referred to the popular saying: "What doesn't stain, stains." It seems that the one who hasn't managed to clean up his image and distance himself from his former Secretary of Public Security, Hernán Bermúdez, is the coordinator of Morena's senators, Adán Augusto López Hernández.

Last week, it was revealed that the man who was in charge of security in Tabasco during the Morena leader's administration is wanted by federal authorities for being the alleged leader of the criminal organization La Barredora .

The Tabasco native avoided making statements regarding his ties to the now fugitive from justice, until Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum "suggested" it to him when he announced through social media that he was available to authorities if needed.

However, on Sunday, at the Morena National Political Council, a group of Morena supporters were already waiting for the senator with a banner reading " Chilangos con Adán" (Chilangos with Adán). At the start of the event, some councilors raised their voices to shout, "You are not alone!"

Apparently, this support wasn't enough to remove the taint, because, much to his chagrin, López Hernández had to give an interview to clarify that he was unaware of his former collaborator's criminal activities.

Although the Morena supporters insist that they are not the same as the PAN and PRI governments, the disassociation that Felipe Calderón made of Genaro García Luna at the time is very similar, if not identical, to the disassociation that López Hernández made of Hernán Bermúdez yesterday.

Morena supporters have also pointed out as a difference that it was the Mexican government itself that initiated the investigations, while in the case of García Luna, it was a foreign government that investigated him.

Perhaps the only difference is that Genaro García is in custody and has been tried, while Hernán Bermúdez remains a fugitive from justice. Will Morena succeed in arresting one of Adán Augusto's collaborators?

And in Question Without Offense:

The reform of the judiciary, which mobilized thousands of people across the country to protest against it, gave rise to a political movement led by retired federal judge Reynaldo Reyes Rosas, who, along with other citizens, is seeking to create a new political party.

However, there is unfair competition from Morena, which launched a strategy to recruit 10 million people. Will the judges succeed in creating their political party despite the lack of resources and infrastructure?
