There is a presidential commitment, a route to liquidate AHMSA and then reactivate it: Manolo Jiménez

Manolo Jiménez Salinas, Governor of the State of Coahuila, announced that he met privately with Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, President of Mexico, during his recent visit to the neighboring state of Durango, where they discussed issues related to works and projects for Coahuila, as well as the liquidation and reactivation of Altos Hornos de México S. A (AHMSA).
The state executive revealed that there is already a route for the liquidation, but that there must be a commitment so that whoever buys or enters the aforementioned liquidation, brings a route in the short term of reactivation and re-contracting; so that the economy can be reactivated.
"This problem, which was ultimately caused by both the former president of the country and AHMSA, this political dispute, this personal dispute, which ultimately resulted in the destruction of the company, of jobs, of the economy. Badly, because they had to separate one thing from the other," said the Governor of the State of Coahuila.
The above, after asking him when he estimates that the projects and programs that he and the President of Mexico discussed during their meeting in the State of Durango will be completed; referring to the fact that he has always liked to announce something when it is already underway or the first stone is about to be laid.
"We basically followed up on what had already been discussed, on some of the commitments she made during her campaign and afterwards; and let's say we made progress," was what the state executive said about the meeting.
He pointed out that there are projects and programs that have to do with the Government, with the Ministry of Communications and Transportation (SCT), with the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) and even those that have to do with International Bridges.
He reiterated that things went very well, highlighting that there is a good relationship, a lot of cordiality, despite being from different political currents, and he stressed that, when they talk and agree, that is left in the background; that is why they have managed to move forward.
"Coahuila stands out today because it has the best of both worlds. It has the possibility of receiving the president's projects and programs, which are mostly constitutional and which extend to the rest of the country; but at the local level it has us, too, with projects, programs, with works, with attention to the issue of employment and a very special attention to the issue of security," said Jiménez Salinas.
