Although Milei took down the message through which he spread the memecoin , pointing out that he was not "informed about the details of the project" and having said in an interview that "for wanting to lend a hand, I got slapped," the episode brought back memories of CoinX , a platform that promised high returns and was later reported for alleged fraud.

After the company was sued and closed its offices, Milei denied having been linked to the project, explaining that he “only gave his opinion,” as he said in a report with Ernesto Tenenbaum for Radio Con Vos .

"The people at Coinx called me and asked for a professional opinion . I asked them to show me how the business worked; they took money, with that they bought securities in dollars, and with that devaluation that was generated they paid you rates in pesos much higher than those paid by the market, which were regulated by the Central Bank. The 40-year-old businessman denied having hit his girlfriend and said that the black packages with the alleged drugs had been planted by Piccirilo, whom he had met shortly before. On the other hand, he told about the relationship between the two, which dates back 6 years, when they were neighbors. " We started with a friendship, trust was generated," he said. "He has a great capacity for social relations, he is a person with a lot of empathy. He was a bit of a rogue, a opportunist, but we were always able to reach an agreement," he stressed.
