The moment an explosive was thrown outside a nightclub was recorded: 7 people were injured.

A 15-second clip shows the moment a motorcycle carrying two people drops an explosive device at the door of a nightclub in northern Quito. The video captures several moving vehicles and people surrounding a food stand moments before the explosion.

According to the police report obtained by Metro Ecuador , the thrown device, suspected to be a grenade, generated a powerful explosion on Logroño Street. This explosion created a shock wave that struck several pedestrians.

One injured person was treated on-site by Fire Department personnel and is in stable condition with moderate pain in his left leg. The other six injured individuals were taken to various health facilities due to injuries caused by fragments.

The incident took place in front of a nightclub, and according to witnesses, "We only saw the motorcycle go by, and seconds later we heard the explosion. Everyone started running."

A total of 17 police officers arrived at the scene, including three high-ranking officers and 14 operational technicians. Three patrol vehicles and ten motorcycles were also deployed. A cordon was established in the area to collect evidence and ensure the protection of residents.

The National Police are continuing their investigation to determine the perpetrators and clarify what type of device was used. The emergency was reported to ECU 911, which organized the security teams' response.
