The Israeli army intercepts a missile launched from Yemen.

The Israeli military reported Thursday that it intercepted a missile from Yemen, from where Houthi rebels regularly launch attacks against Israel in support of what they claim is the population of Gaza .
"The Israeli air force recently intercepted a missile launched from Yemen," the military said in a statement, according to AFP.
So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the launch, although the Houthi rebels, supported by Iran, frequently fire rockets and drones at Israeli territory in solidarity with the Palestinians.
Gaza is mired in a devastating war triggered by the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel by the Islamist movement Hamas, an ally of the Houthis.
Israel has carried out several retaliatory strikes in Yemen, targeting rebel-held regions, including ports in the west of the country and the airport in the capital, Sanaa.
The Houthis have also attacked ships allegedly linked to Israel in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden as a way to pressure an end to the war in Gaza.
