The 2025 Mozarteum season will bring great figures to the Colón

The Mexican tenor Javier Camarena , the Fauré Quartet chamber ensemble , the Argentine pianist Nelson Goerner with the Festival Strings Lucerne, the Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra, the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and the Tallinn Sinfonietta are some of the main attractions of the 73rd season of the Mozarteum Argentino , which will open on Monday, May 5 at the Colón. Registration for new members, also for the young season ticket, will be on Thursday, March 20 and Friday, March 21, at the Teatro Colón box office . The traditional Midday Concerts, with free admission, will continue to be presented throughout 2025.
The season, with eight subscription performances for each cycle , always at 8 pm at the Colón, will be inaugurated on May 5 by the Fauré Quartett with a program comprising the Quartet for piano and strings No. 2 op. 26 by Brahms and the Quartet for piano and strings No. 2 op. 87 by Dvorák.
The second programme will feature pianist Nelson Goerner as soloist and the Festival Strings Lucerne . On 26 May, Goerner will perform Frédéric Chopin 's Piano Concerto No. 2, Op. 21 , while the Orchestra will complete the programme with Ravel's Menuet sur le nom d'Haydn , Richard Dubugnon's Piccolo concerto grosso and Tchaikovsky's Serenade in C major .
The programme for the outstanding tenor Javier Camarena , in his debut for the Mozarteum (June 16), is not yet confirmed.

The fourth performance of the subscription will be given by the magnificent Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra , members of the prestigious Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam, with the presentation of violinist Antje Weithaas as soloist. Appreciated for her highly personal versions, the German violinist projected herself internationally when she won first prizes in three of the major violin competitions worldwide : Kreisler (Graz, 1987), Bach (Leipzig, 1988) and Joseph Joachim (Hannover, 1991).
On July 28, Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto and String Orchestra, MWV O3 , will be heard, while the Orchestra will complete the program with Grieg's Suite from the Times of Holberg, Ravel's Tzigane. Rhapsody for Violin and String Orchestra , arranged by Michael Waterman, and Shostakovich's Chamber Symphony Op. 110 .
Pianist Claire Huangci , acclaimed for her recent album dedicated to Mozart concertos with the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra, will be back on September 15 with a program dedicated to Ravel and Mussorgsky.
The sixth date will be in charge of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen , with conductor Riccardo Minasi and Canadian violinist James Ehnes. The program, which will be presented on October 6, includes Schubert's Overture in C major op. 170 , “in the Italian style,” Beethoven's Violin Concerto op. 61 , and Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 4 .
The Fauré Quartett chamber ensemble will open the 2025 season of the Argentine Mozarteum on May 5.
The Salzburg Chamber Soloists, conducted by Lavard Skou-Larsen and with the Constanze Quartet as soloist , will make their debut on 27 October, performing works by Vittorio Giannini, Schubert, Elgar and Bartók.
The season will close with the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber performing the Tallinn Sinfonietta under Tõnu Kaljuste on 24 November. The programme includes Handel's Dixit Dominus, HWV 232 and three works by Arvo Pärt: Da Pacem Domine , Cantus in Memoriam Benjamin Britten and Te Deum .
