Sixth running of the bulls of San Fermín 2025, live | José Escolar's bulls star in the sixth running of the bulls

It's difficult to count the number of people who run the San Fermín bull runs, which continue until this Sunday in Pamplona. But it's estimated that between 2,000 people do so on a normal day and 3,500 on the weekend. This is a high number, especially considering that the route is only 848.6 meters long and that, within it, six bulls and the same number of steers (they are divided into two groups, with the second following the route shortly after in case a loose bull needs to be guided) run at an average speed of 24 km/h. The risk of injury, or even death, is high. In fact, 16 people have lost their lives during a running of the bulls, according to historical data. To minimize this danger, numerous, often unknown, preventive measures have been adopted.
