Shots fired at an annex in León; two dead and three injured

An armed attack on an annex in León left two dead and three wounded .

The events were recorded before 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, at an addiction rehabilitation center called " Hope and Faith " located on Potrero de Corpus and Potrero de Gallegos streets , in the El Potrero Development neighborhood , in León, Guanajuato .

According to police reports, several armed individuals arrived at the annex on a motorcycle and a van , broke into the building and shot at the inmates and their godfathers.

The perpetrators fled in the vehicles and local residents alerted the authorities after hearing multiple gunshots.

Civil Protection officers and Red Cross paramedics arrived at the site to deal with the emergency, but upon arrival they confirmed the death of two people .

In addition, three injured people were treated and transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further medical attention.

Criminal investigation agents, forensic experts and personnel from the Attorney General's Office of the State of Guanajuato also arrived to process the scene.

The settlers indicated that the “Esperanza y Fe” annex in León had only recently been operating in the area. The victims have not yet been identified.
