Paula Blasi, European Under-23 Road Cycling Champion

Spanish women's cycling is on a roll, never tiring of winning. Paula Blasi was crowned European Under-23 champion this Friday in the road race held in Guilherand-Granges (France). The 22-year-old Catalan rider crossed the finish line alone, ahead of Italy's Eleonora Ciabocco and France's Julien Bego .

Blasi, who a week ago won bronze in the same event at the World Championships held in Rwanda, knew how to intelligently manage the constant climbs of a very demanding route, 85.7 kilometres in total , which accumulated 1,620 metres of elevation gain and included up to eight ports, including several passes through the extremely tough Côte de Val d'Enfer (1.5 km at 9.8%).
