América defeated Pachuca 2-0 in the second leg of the quarterfinals (2-0 on aggregate) and secured their spot in the semifinals of the 2025 Liga MX Clausura ; they await their opponent in the next stage alongside Toluca.

The intensity was evident from the start of the match at the Ciudad de los Deportes , and Alan Bautista forced Luis Ángel Malagón to fly in the 13th minute to touch the ball with his glove, sending it crashing over the crossbar and saving the home side from a 0-1 deficit.
