It's official: Rivas Vaciamadrid launches new bus lines with more urban and intercity routes and better connections to Madrid.

Rivas Vaciamadrid is expanding its bus network with a reorganization that introduces new urban routes, improved connections to Madrid (Conde de Casal) , and direct service to the Hospital del Sureste . The announcement by the Regional Transport Consortium marks the beginning of a decade with an updated mobility map for the municipality.

The plan includes the launch of three internal lines with 20-minute frequencies and the creation of the intercity line 335 , connecting the northern area with Conde de Casal. In addition, the current routes are being maintained and redesigned, strengthening access to the Arganda del Rey hospital and strategic neighborhoods in the city. Along with these new features, the municipal program "By bus to school" will once again increase its offering for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. The service will have a total of eleven school lines, two more than initially planned , which will allow for the inclusion of 13% more schoolchildren on daily trips to schools.

New urban routes to get around Rivas

The three urban lines form the backbone of the new network. Line 1 will connect the La Luna neighborhood with the Old Town, passing through Covibar, the Centro neighborhood, and the Rivas Futura commercial area. Line 2 will become a two-way circular service , with comprehensive coverage in the municipality, while Line 3 connects the residential areas and the industrial park with Cerro del Telégrafo.

These internal routes maintain a frequency of 20 minutes on weekdays, with express variants during school hours to serve the main schools. The design seeks to strengthen public transportation as a real alternative to private vehicles for daily commutes within the city.

Direct connection with Conde de Casal

The most notable new feature is Line 335 , which connects northern Rivas, via Avenida de Los Almendros, with the Conde de Casal interchange . It joins the existing intercity lines: Line 331 , which covers Rivas Futura and Cerro del Telégrafo; Line 332 , which connects the Old Town and Rivas Futura with Madrid; Line 333 , which passes through Covibar and reaches the La Luna neighborhood; and Line 334 , which passes through César Manrique and the H2O shopping center.

All of these lines will operate every 10 minutes during weekday rush hours , significantly increasing mobility to the capital. Furthermore, night routes N301 and N302 will be maintained, entering the municipality via the A-3 and serving both the Covibar neighborhood and the Old Town.

Access to the Hospital del Sureste and the Henares Corridor

Healthcare connections continue to be guaranteed with Line 330A , which connects Rivas with the Hospital del Sureste in Arganda del Rey . This route maintains its terminus in Rivas Urbanizaciones, with departures every 25 minutes on weekdays and every hour and a quarter on holidays . The journey takes approximately 33 minutes.

In addition, intermunicipal connections have been added to Mejorada del Campo (Line 342) and to San Fernando de Henares and Coslada (Line 291), expanding the network to the Henares Corridor. Both will operate Monday through Friday with a 45-minute frequency.

A ten-year mobility plan

With the final publication of the concession map, the Regional Transport Consortium responds to the complaints raised last year and outlines a network designed for the next decade. The objective is twofold: to improve internal mobility in Rivas and to offer fast and frequent alternatives to Madrid and the surrounding municipalities.

In this way, Rivas Vaciamadrid becomes one of the best-connected hubs in the region , with a network that combines urban, interurban, and healthcare routes, guaranteeing a service adapted to the population growth and mobility needs of the coming years.
