Indigenous professor César Gómez López wins election for mayor of Oxchuc

With 7,132 votes in favor, indigenous professor César Gómez López was the winner of the election for municipal president of Oxchuc, so the General Council of the Institute of Elections and Citizen Participation (IEPC) granted him the certificate of majority as president-elect.
The IEPC reported that citizen participation was 23,272 votes during the day of February 23, which represents a 55.34% participation, after counting the 76 polling stations installed, according to the Internal Regulatory System of the town of Oxchuc, for the period 2025-2028.
Next Wednesday, February 26, in Oxchuc, through a Single General Assembly, voting will be carried out by show of hands to elect the people who will occupy the positions of trustee and councilors (owners and substitutes).
