Elderly man dies after overturning in a ravine in Ramos Arizpe

An elderly man lost his life in the municipality of Ramos Arizpe, on Wednesday evening.

A 79-year-old man lost his life after the vehicle he was driving went off the road and fell into a 20-meter-deep ravine in the west of the municipality.

The victim was identified as Lorenzo Barragán Maza , a resident of the Escorial neighborhood. According to the Municipal Police report, the elderly man was driving a black Chevrolet Chevy without license plates from west to east. However, when he reached a curve on Loma Larga Street, he lost control of the car .

The vehicle went off the road, hit a guardrail , destroyed it and ended up in a storm drain , where it overturned. Paramedics and firefighters from Civil Protection went to the scene and, after removing the victim's body, confirmed his death due to the blows received , especially to the face.

Marco Aurelio Rosales, 49 , appeared at the scene of the accident. He identified himself as the deceased's nephew and mentioned that his uncle was heading home at the time of the accident.

Authorities ordered the removal of the body and its transfer to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) to perform the corresponding autopsy.
