City Council authorizes payment for expert appraisal for Villa Florida Highway project

The Municipality has authorized the payment of 160,000 pesos to the expert who will conduct the technical assessment of the impact of the second phase of the Villa Florida Highway Passage on the homes on Rodolfo González Treviño Street in the Villa Florida neighborhood, in accordance with the commitment made by former City Hall Secretary José Elías Ganem Guerrero.

City Hall Secretary Eduardo Olmos Castro said that Mayor Román Alberto Cepeda González instructed the administrative department to formalize the payment, which will allow for the technical aspects that had been delayed or left pending due to the change in municipal officials to be addressed.

The expert, a civil engineer, will conduct a technical study to determine the noise impact of widening a second lane on the side of La Nogalera Boulevard toward the Villa Florida neighborhood, as well as the potential loss of added value to the homes, particularly those on González Treviño Street.

Olmos Castro emphasized that in recent days he has been in contact with the social leaders who represent some of the residents of Villa Florida. , and who, as they stated, one of their main concerns was that, with the change of the City Council secretary, the authorization to begin preparing the expert report or technical opinion would be halted.

"There wasn't much of a delay, the technical issue had simply been held up due to the changes, but the payment was authorized midweek," he explained.

Once that part has been covered, the expert will begin the corresponding study, which could be ready to present the conclusions in the next three or four weeks.

He also said that although he has not yet had any contact with the settlers, This could happen in the coming days, as requested by representatives of the state government of the Coahuila Building , a meeting is being arranged to follow up on the progress of the agreements established with the municipal authority.

"This demonstrates the city council's willingness to submit to the expert assessment, listen to it, and take it into account, ensuring that residents who feel affected by the project can rest assured that work is being done and the issues agreed upon with the previous secretary are being formalized," said Eduardo Olmos Castro.

Regarding the second phase of work, which involves widening a second lane of traffic on the Villa Florida Highway, it continues, although it will be subject to modifications if the technical report so requires.
