América and Cruz Azul will meet again in the semifinals.

América , for the seventh consecutive time, secured its ticket to the Liga MX Semifinals and could face Vicente Sánchez's Cruz Azul .

After winning 2-0 on aggregate against Guillermo Almada's Pachuca, América advanced to the Semifinals of the 2025 Clausura with the goal of reaching the Final and contending for the fourth championship in Mexican soccer .

Still without a clear opponent, América will be waiting to see what happens in the remaining quarterfinal matches on Sunday, May 11, to find out which team they will face in the next round.

IF CRUZ AZUL ADVANCES…

Currently, América only has three possible opponents for the 2025 Clausura Semifinals; these are all the possible combinations:

América vs. Cruz Azul : If La Máquina maintains its overall lead over James Rodríguez's La Fiera, a new edition of the Clásico Joven would be held at the "Fiesta Grande."

América Vs Tigres : Águilas and Felines would meet again in a Liguilla only if Cruz Azul ends up being eliminated by León and the Sultana del Norte manages to beat Necaxa at the 'Volcán' stadium.

América Vs Necaxa : Despite the fact that -on paper- it is the least viable qualifying round for the Azulcremas, the duel between Azulcremas and Aguascalientes would be confirmed if León eliminates Cruz Azul and Necaxa does the same against Tigres.

Regardless of their opponent in the Semifinals, América will finish the qualifying round playing the second leg at home at the Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes, and André Jardine's team would advance to the 2025 Clausura Final if they win or draw after playing the full 180 minutes .
