Adam tribalizes Morena

The case of former Tabasco Public Security Secretary Hernán Bermúdez Requena has served to more clearly highlight the tribalization of Morena.

Just as happened to the PRD, which ultimately ended the party, in Morena the groups loyal to the political bosses began to mark their differences after the case of the police chief of Adán Augusto López .

Some have already expressed loyalty to the former governor of Tabasco, perhaps because they believe he will be sustained by the shadowy support of López Obrador. They could be wrong, but it's a costly gamble.

There is a group, the inner circle of President Claudia Sheinbaum , who already see him as a burden, a political liability that is impossible to carry in the coming years, but who have to publicly support him so as not to upset the chieftain of Macuspana.

Another group is made up of true Morena constituents, who hold lower positions but are willing to step forward and demand a larger share of the pie.

Grupo Salinas (GS), whose CEO is businessman Ricardo Salinas Pliego , responded to the government's allegations about its alleged tax debts.

GS issued a statement regarding taxes paid from 2005 to 2024, which total 250 billion pesos (US$13.4 trillion), "which would be enough to build three AIFAS and have some left over."

The Group maintains that it does not owe taxes, but that the government's claim is a case of "tax extortion."

"We are fighting to avoid being charged twice for the same thing. These are abusive, illegal double charges resulting from arbitrary interpretations of the laws guided by political dictates rather than by the law."

According to the explanation, the tax credits attributed to him "have been artificially inflated by adjustments, fines, and surcharges to absurd levels. We reiterate, this is not justice; it is tax extortion."

GS accused the National Palace of institutionalizing "political persecution with the clear mandate of silencing and punishing those who think differently."

I also point out that pressure has been exerted against judges, magistrates, and ministers, their right to prompt, complete, and impartial justice has been denied, and their companies have been publicly condemned "before any ruling."

GS reiterated that the disqualification campaigns are led by Jesús Ramírez , former spokesperson for López Obrador and advisor to Claudia Sheinbaum .
