The most important thing in brief: Holstein Kiel can still hope for another year in the Bundesliga. The second-to-last team won 3-1 (2-0) at FC Augsburg and, with two games remaining, is just one point behind the 16th place playoff spot, occupied by 1. FC Heidenheim.

Shuto Machino gave the northern Germans the lead with a penalty in the 25th minute. Alexander Bernhardsson added two goals for the visitors in the 40th and 51st minutes. Augsburg scored again through Steve Mounié in the 90th minute and sits in eleventh place after the defeat.
