DFB Cup live: Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Borussia Dortmund – Watch the match on free TV

In the second round of the DFB Cup, there will be several Bundesliga duels: FC St. Pauli will face Hoffenheim, Mainz 05 will host VfB Stuttgart, Heidenheim will play against HSV, and 1. FC Köln will face FC Bayern.

The cup match between Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund will be broadcast live on ZDF . Kick-off at Deutsche Bank Park is on October 28 at 6:30 p.m.

There is a practical reason why a match with the earlier of the two cup kick-off times is being shown on free-to-air television: ZDF will also be broadcasting the DFB Women's Nations League semi-final second leg against hosts France live on free TV later that evening.

In addition to being broadcast on free TV, the cup match between Frankfurt and Dortmund can be seen live on Sky . The pay-TV broadcaster also holds the broadcast rights for the entire tournament this season.

A total of 16 matches will be played in the second round of the DFB-Pokal. In addition to the aforementioned Bundesliga matches, Energie Cottbus and RB Leipzig will face off against each other in the Eastern Bundesliga, FV Illertissen (the only remaining Regionalliga team) will face 1. FC Magdeburg , and Union Berlin will face cup-scarred Arminia Bielefeld . Three of the matches ( Hertha vs. Elversberg , Fürth vs. Kaiserslautern , and Darmstadt vs. Schalke ) will be purely second-division matches.

Of the 111 competitive matches between Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt, five have taken place in the DFB-Pokal – with BVB winning the last three matches, most recently 2-1 in 2017. Frankfurt's cup victories date back much further: 1979 and 1969.

This season, however, Eintracht Frankfurt has had a more convincing start. Frankfurt comfortably beat Oberliga side FV Engers 5-0 in the first round, while Dortmund struggled for a long time in their narrow 1-0 victory over third-division Rot-Weiss Essen.

SGE has also presented itself more confidently in the Bundesliga so far: Two wins in two matches are in contrast to a disappointing start at BVB, in which the victory against St. Pauli, which was thought to be certain, was thrown away – including subsequent discussions that caused unrest within the club.
