Weather service measures highest temperature of the year so far

Offenbach/Kitzingen. The German Weather Service (DWD) reportedly recorded the highest temperature of the year so far on Saturday. 35.5 degrees Celsius was measured at 3 p.m. in Kitzingen, Lower Franconia, a DWD spokesperson said in the evening. This is a preliminary reading.

"That definitely won't be topped on Sunday," the spokesperson said. "It will stay like this for a few days." According to the DWD, similarly high temperatures will not be reached in the next seven days.
Only in some places will it be just over 30 degrees Celsius, especially in the southwest.
