What is North German humor, Lars Jessen?

Born 13 April 1969 in Kiel Profession Actor, director, screenwriter Education Studied film and television at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne Status Local patriot
Acting, Lars Jessen once said in an interview with Deutschlandfunk Kultur, was not his talent; he was much better at bringing people together in a creative process. He found his way to film through a directing internship on Lindenstraße: "I was sitting on Mother Beimer's sofa and thought, it couldn't get any better." The people he has often brought together since then are Charly Hübner and Jan Georg Schütte, and the result is films set in northern German villages, preferably in village pubs. The people speak Low German, don't have much to lose, but make jokes about it. The most famous of these films is Mittagsstunde , based on Dörte Hansen's book. The second most famous is Dorfpunks , after Rocko Schamoni's book. The most revealing film about Jessen himself is called Am Tag, als Bobby Ewing starb: Niels, like Lars Jessen, grows up with his mother in a rural commune near Brokdorf. Niels, alias Lars, found the hippies embarrassing and was happy that the village boys took him to the pub and to play football. Jessen will now be seen in the film "Amrum " (from October 9th), directed by Fatih Akin. The book is by Hark Bohm, who tells the story of his childhood during and after the war on the North Sea island of Amrum.
