Succession arranged: Oliver Morath retires from Squad Fonds

After four years, Oliver Morath is handing over responsibility for sales at Squad Fonds to Stephan Hornung and Martin Dilg and is stepping down from day-to-day operations.
Morath has played a key role in the development of the platform for several independent and specialized fund boutiques in recent years. Under his leadership, the fund volume under management has increased to over two billion euros.
Stephan Hornung co-founded Squad Fonds in 2004. Martin Dilg has been with the platform since 2023. Previous senior career positions took him to Alliance Bernstein, Baring Asset Management, and Fürst Fugger Bank.
"We expressly thank Oliver for his valuable work and the sustainable development of our sales platform. We are all the more pleased that he will continue to be closely associated with us – both as a shareholder of Discover Capital and in an advisory capacity," explains Hornung.
"We regret Oliver's decision, but respect his desire to devote more time to his projects – his podcast 'Der Finanzgourmet' and his personal passion, wine," adds Dilg.
Morath will accompany Squad Fonds as a strategic advisor for three years. In the future, he also plans to focus on recruitment and advising boutiques, especially on startups.
Squad Fonds is part of Discover Capital and, since its founding in 2004, has positioned itself as a platform for specialized fund boutiques specializing in the analysis and selection of undervalued, high-quality securities and bonds. The platform combines the expertise for the launch and distribution of investment funds, allowing fund managers to focus entirely on their core competency: implementing their investment strategy.
