|The pipeline is a constant concern for Germany. Some in the business community and the CDU dream of its resurrection, speculating on cheap gas. But the price for it would be far too high.
A corpse lies at the bottom of the Baltic Sea. It's 1,230 kilometers long, cost almost ten billion euros, and is essentially brand new. It connects the gas fields of Western Siberia directly to Germany, more precisely to Lubmin near Greifswald. But not a single cubic meter of gas has ever flowed through it. And that's how it should stay.
