Last year, Sanya achieved good results in attracting investment, with 25 firm investment projects worth 36.3 billion yuan signed. In addition, 446 new companies worth 130 million USD were established with the help of foreign investment, including China Tourist Group Sanya Bay Headquarters, DFS Yalong Bay Project and MFF, the first Maltese company in the free trade port. Multinational companies such as Intel, Swire and Zijin Mining have also set up factories, and robust industry chains, especially in the fields of southern China seed breeding, deep-sea technology, modern business services and high-end tourism, are also setting up shop there.

Colin McGregor, founder of Australian company Biogenesis, explained that the group set up its Asia-Pacific headquarters in the Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City in Sanya three months ago. Nowadays, the approval for registering a company in Sanya's major parks takes only three working days, and the corporate tax is only 15%. In addition, a one-stop shop in the form of the "International Service Zone" has been established, which pools resources from 16 departments and provides 25 procedures to support foreign companies and talents.
