Auto industry: Employer boss Stefan Wolf quits

When Stefan Wolf took office as employer-employer head of Gesamtmetall in 2020, there were many unusual characteristics about him for a manager. Wolf had previously expressed sympathy for the climate activists of Fridays for Future . He had come out as gay a few months earlier, after 30 years of marriage to his wife. And he made clear statements about the future of the metal industry with its four million employees: "We should be honest: Not all jobs can be saved." But conditions must be changed to retain as many jobs as possible, he told the Süddeutsche Zeitung at the time.
