Audi separates from Renate Vachenauer: Now the last woman leaves the board

Ingolstadt. The car manufacturer Audi, suffering from poor business, is parting ways with the only woman on its seven-member board: Renate Vachenauer, the manager responsible for procurement, will leave the VW subsidiary this Wednesday. The supervisory board has decided this, the company announced. The decision is "by mutual agreement," according to the "Bild" newspaper.
Vachenauer moved from BMW to Audi in 2021, having only been a member of the board since April 2023. Her interim successor will now be a man, Board Member for Production Gerd Walker. Vachenauer, an electrical engineer, is the second former BMW top manager to leave Audi. Hildegard Wortmann, Board Member for Sales and Marketing, who had also previously worked for the Munich-based rival, left in August 2024.
