Speeding in Lower Austria: Car confiscated

On Wednesday afternoon, a car driver was clocked at 177 km/h instead of the permitted 80 km/h on the Nord/Weinviertel Autobahn (A5) near Poysdorf (Mistelbach district).
The Czech man ignored stop signs and drove off. Police gave chase and stopped the car at the Drasenhofen roundabout. According to a press release, the man's driver's license was temporarily suspended and his car was impounded. The 71-year-old was reported to the district authority.
