MFE: Berlusconi fails to secure majority stake in Pro Sieben Sat 1

The Italian takeover of ProSiebenSat.1 is now dragging on. The Berlusconis hold a stake of approximately 43.6 percent of the German company as of the reporting date, and they intend to continue buying.

The Italian company Media for Europe (MFE) surprisingly failed to secure a majority stake in the German television group Pro Sieben Sat 1 by the closing date. According to the latest mandatory disclosure, the company now holds approximately 43.6 percent of Pro Sieben Sat 1 Media SE as of August 13. However, the Berlusconis are still purchasing shares. Shareholders can tender their shares to MFE during a grace period until September 1.
