Lufthansa: Carsten Spohr sticks to annual forecast despite red figures

Despite the tariff dispute with the US, the company reported significantly more travelers from the United States in March than a year earlier, as it announced in Frankfurt on Tuesday. Bookings from the US continued to increase.

This is one of the reasons why CEO Carsten Spohr (58) is sticking to his goal of increasing profit from day-to-day operations (adjusted EBIT) this year and "significantly" exceeding the previous year's figure of around €1.65 billion: "Global demand for air travel continues to grow," Spohr explained. "Despite all geopolitical uncertainties, we therefore remain on a growth path, are optimistic about the summer, and maintain our positive outlook for 2025."
