A police officer from the Pinneberg precinct near Hamburg has to answer to the Pinneberg district court for using symbols of unconstitutional organizations. As the "Hamburger Abendblatt" reports, the officer is said to have said "Heil Hitler" several times over the police radio during a patrol in Schenefeld on January 2, 2024. This is said to have been audible to numerous colleagues.
According to the "Hamburger Abendblatt", if convicted the police officer faces a prison sentence of up to three years or a fine. However, the disciplinary consequences are likely to be more serious. Police officers who spread right-wing ideas should not be tolerated within the police force and should be consistently prosecuted.
