Berlin: Tesla settles dispute over wastewater in Grünheide

According to Tesla, this will allow us to continue to reuse 100 percent of the wastewater generated during production. "This now enables us to return almost 400,000 cubic meters of our contractually agreed water quota to the water board."
Tesla has consistently pointed out that water consumption at its Grünheide factory is lower than the average for the electric car industry and that the company has significantly reduced its consumption. The US automaker says it hopes the agreement will also put an end to the public debate. Tesla's (53-year-old) sole European factory, owned by CEO Elon Musk, has been producing electric cars in Grünheide since 2022.
