Almost half of Germans want an end to aid to Ukraine

Status: 07:28 amNeither weapons nor money: According to a new Insa survey, almost half of those surveyed are against further supporting Ukraine. This view is particularly widespread in one age group.
According to an exclusive survey by the opinion research institute Insa, 46 percent of Germans want the next federal government to support Ukraine neither with weapons nor with money. On the other hand, 28 percent want the next government to send both weapons and money to the country attacked by Russia.
According to a survey commissioned by the news portal " t-online ", seven percent of Germans want to help Ukraine only with money, and another eight percent only with weapons. Six percent are undecided, and three percent of Germans do not care about the issue.
The age distribution is striking: among Germans aged 18 to 29, a majority (57 percent) want the next government to stop supporting Ukraine. In contrast, only 28 percent of Germans over the age of 70 do not want to send weapons or money to Ukraine.
The survey was conducted online on February 24, 2025. 1,000 people from Germany aged 18 and over were surveyed; when asked to state their party preference, only 834 respondents answered. The survey is declared to be representative.
